Combining rock sensibility with electronic textures and a soulful voice.. It's hard not to like the direction they have grown into. With songs like, "Sorry" and "Dear Miss Heart" smoldering in reserved intensity; and "Diva" a lush and mellow sound with a hint of drum-and-bass... Marigold Engine shows their depth is far more than a pop band. But they can dish out a pop hook too: "Better than it was before" and "just to get noticed" demonstrate the attention to pop melodies and arrangements without the syrupy aftertaste.
These guys are definately onto something good. Whether, Steve, Jon and Erik are playing live or laying down tracks in the studio, they definately are worth a listen or three.
